TREATMENT
TREATMENT OUTLINE - WILL
Although there are many locations that would be great for us to shoot this video in, realistically, there are only a few outdoor ones local to us that would be practical. The first one is the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park. We think this would be a great place to create our own take on A$AP Rocky’s scene in Yambroghini High.
The other ideas we have are car and drone oriented. We want to have a scene shot on a drone looking over country roads maybe. We’re currently thinking about how we can get access to someone with fast and high end cars as this seems to be a key theme in a lot of Hip-Hop music videos.
CHARACTERS (if applicable) - WILL
As our music video won’t be narrative based, there isn’t real ‘story’ being told so we don’t have characters as such but we are planning to have two main people to represent D.R.A.M. and Lil Yachty. These two characters will be at the forefront of most shots and and the main focus of our music video. There will be other people in the background as in most Hip Hop videos the rappers will usually have their group of friends in the video with them. We can link this to the theories of Richard Dyer’s Star Theory and Goodwin’s - The Star Image. In both these theories there is a key star performer to add style to the video and make it more appealing to the audience.
TARGET AUDIENCE - OTTILIE
Our video will be primarily aimed at a younger audience ranging from 15-22. Although I think boys would be the more likely audience viewing our video, I do think that there will be aspects our video that will draw girls in too. I think with the creative visuals we’re planning on creating, our video will appeal to both girls and boys.
EQUIPMENT & RESOURCES - WILL
Technical Equipment:
The visual effects that we wish to use in our music video during the post production editing stage may be difficult, although I am relatively confident with the editing software we will have to get used to Premiere Pro and After Effects again. We may need to look at some tutorials on YouTube or ask Miss for some guidance. In terms of any limitations when shooting, we will make sure we are both fully trained on any equipment which is new to us such as the GoPro and the Drone. This is to ensure we are confident when using this and so no time is lost when filming. As we know how valuable filming time is.

CONTINGENCY PLANS - WILL
In terms of filming, there is always a high chance that there may be a technical difficulty when out on location. This could range from, weather disruption such as rain and the camera getting wet, to not properly understanding how to use the equipment. To overcome these we will make sure we take all the precautions needed such as having a waterproof camera cover with us at all time and having a backup location as the weather can be very unpredictable. We will also make sure not just that we are well prepared and have had the relevant training of all the equipment but that we are both confident in using them. Of course there may be some unforeseeable problems that may occur but we will be prepared enough to ensure that if something does happen, it will not damage our whole project and we will recover quickly.

VISUALS & STYLE CHOICES - OTTILIE
- We have been hugely inspired by the visual effects used by artists such as Lil Yachty, ASAP Mob and AJ Tracey in videos like Yambroghini High and LA4AWEEK. The artists use layering effects and colour grading, changing the hue and making the colours appear almost neon. This kind of thing helps add to the fantasy kind of look we’re going for. Although the contents and the visuals of the video will be real things, we want to add a surreal atmosphere to the video.
- One of the ways we’re planning to add and change colour is through using lighting gels. We could use purple lighting gel then change the colour grading to change the contrast or the highlights to help parts of the picture stand out or gain a 3D effect.
- Although we don’t have any specific costume planned for the video, we do want to have the characters wearing clothes that are both unique, wacky and from identifiable brands. For example, we loved DAVE’s Stoney Island thermo sensitive sweater that he wore in his video for No Words ft. MoStack, and something like this would look great with an enhanced hue, contrasting background.
